Michael O’Loughlin was born in Dublin and graduated from TCD. He is a poet, critic, translator, commentator and screenwriter. He has published seven collections of poetry, most recently Poems 1980-2015 (2017) and Liberty Hall (2021), and translated the Dutch poet Gerrit Achterberg, Hidden Weddings (1987). His screen credits include For My Baby (1997) and Snapshots (2002).
He has been Writer In Residence for Galway City and County, Writer Fellow in Trinity College Dublin, and UNESCO City of Literature Writer in Residence in Prague. He is a member of Aosdána.
