Trish Bennett

Trish Bennett is a writer and performer from the Leitrim/Fermanagh border. Her mother, Frances, was a proud Roscommon woman who instilled a love of the county and its people into her. Bennett won the Roscommon New Writing Award 2022 and the Leitrim Guardian Literary Award for Poetry in 2017 & 2018. Her work has been listed in renowned competitions such as the National Poetry Competition, Mslexia, Fish, and Allingham and was featured on radio/TV and at festivals across Ireland and the UK, including at the London Irish Centre, Cúirt and Culture Night. Her poetry is widely published in the UK, Ireland and the USA. Her winning poem, ‘Staying Safe’, was published in postcard format by Dedalus Press. ‘Sweet Spot’ featured in the BBC & Ulster Orchestra’s 40th anniversary show at the Ulster Hall. ‘The Stench of Poetry’ is part of a Lunar Codex of poetry and art headed to the moon on a 2025 NASA flight.
